No, but the rich get richer, and the middle class dwindles, as more go to poverty or check to check.
I have no problem with rich being rich, but something has to be done about reempowering the middle class, and helping those who are in poverty.
Yawn, to further your cliche with another equally useless cliche,
and that is because the poor stay poor, and the middle class is now all rich.

A more serious question must be asked, where is the middle class going, are they getting rich or becomming poor?
If you think about it, the millionaire ranks are growing. They have to come from somewhere...

technically i've heard the "real" millionaires are happy that the "fake" millionaires (the lottery winners, the stock windfalls, the realestate flippers) are actually losing ground and becoming middle class again. it was on a BBC show about luxury items, and how the "real" millionairs, those that KNOW how to handle their riches, are buying luxury items and the fake ones can't.

by "real" millionaires, you mean the

[hr]
Hiltons and Walton families of the world who all inherited their millions from their mommies and daddies, right?
EDIT: the most famous city in France is not allowed to be written on here? hmm. I almost agree, but think "France" itself should be edited out as well.

pa-ris is a high spam alert thing.
unfortunately the inheritors are real millionairs, but hopefully will squander everything (doubtful though, i'm sure they all have trust funds they have to follow). but the owner of the

[hr]
hotels, who built it up from nothing (or from buyout whatever) would be considered a "real" millionaire. they don't consider all the rap stars, the athletes, etc part of their class.

A fool and his/her money are soon parted. (besides if he/she squanders her money where does it really go?) Moronic millionaires squandering money is good for folks who make money off their whims. Alot of times these high end shoppes (spelled with an e to signify hoity toitieness) and other stuff is pop and pop or mom and mom type stores (since there aren't any fashionistas who are straight) ok in all seriousness, who cares what "real millionaires" think or "faux millionaires" they all have more money than I do. You want "redistribution" of weath? Why not let capitalism work, the rich guy makes money hires the poor guy give the poor guy money to work for him. Or buys stuff from the poorer guy. Whammy redistribution of wealth! Everybody is happy except for the guys in government arguing that government can't survive with those 18 cents a gallon, "our roads and infastructure will crumble!"

becomming poorer. There are more ways to get rich today and to capitalize on it... Overall, the middle class is getting poorer... but with everything you'll addrition on both sides; however it generally people finding it harder to live the lifestyle they once did earning the same amount of $. So yes there are more millionares... but keep in mind $1 million is not what it once was even 10 years ago... but by comparison there are many more poor people.

Some people do.. that the problem with some republicans... Its not about a handout or being too lazy... Regardless of the circumstance... you can't live on that w/o some sort of assistance.. let alone pay for health ins.

Not the government's responsibility. This is what private charity is for.

its just the difference of "old money" vs "new money" Money is money and it spends the same... these folks are just elitest who fell they are basically royality. I mean what really is the difference... much of the wealth they recieved has been past along generationally and started off the backs of slaves.
I mean take a look at Jay-Z or Diddy.. both worth in excess of $350 million. Even Lebron James who is probably worth $150-$200 million. And all the other actors and musicians who are worth over $100 million.

lol, you have no evidence to back your claim of "the middle class" getting poor, just like I have little anecdotal evidence to the contrary. If you are going to make these "sky is falling claims" at least have a piece of the sky to prove your story.
And while yes people making x amount of money today will have less spending power than the same person making x amount of money 20 years ago, inflation is simply a side effect of a growing economy. and although there is credence to price stickiness (and wages is the price for your day) that will change and increase in a growing economy. (or you are a moron for not finding a different job)
It is funny you libs don't want inflation, but think 1% real GDP growth is a recession. Want a strong dollar and a strong manufacturing sector. You want to take away money from american for the greater good of government while wanting better distribution of wealth. all that stuff is inversly related.

Lol so having 1 million dollars doesn't mean you are rich, (so does that mean that the upper middle class is growing)?

Foolish people tend to squander what they got, whether they earned it or had it handed to them from some feel good liberal social engineering program. If someone slips and falls I have no problem being forced to give them a hand up. I'm just tired of having to keep tightening the strings on the hammock
The most obscene form of redistribution of wealth is the easiest to fix. Pass a federal law eliminating any public services for illegal aliens. No healthcare, no schooling, no nothing but a one way ticket back where they belong. That alone would open up jobs for those who really want to work.

Flat tax is an excellent idea. However, you would have to have the tax take affect after say the first $20,000 of income to keep it from harming families in the low income range.
In addition, think about a tax form that literally would be the size of a post card and not having to pay someone to do your taxes. No government should be able to collect a tax where the laws are so complicated that you have to hire someone to figure out what you owe.

most of you all talk a good game but most jobs dont have any retirement programs and ssi isant enuff to live on when you get old if it was the old folks wouldent have to choose between meds. or food each month i think a flat tax would be good and make those rich folks and companys pay ther fare part. insted of hidding behind tax loop holes made for the rich.
i bet few of you guyes live on less than a grand a month . and there isant any help from the goverment becouse even if your family gives you some food to eat the goverment deducts it from your disabilty check if thay find it out.
the greed of the rich blind them from the truth.
