Reef C e n t r a l Dead in the Water...for good
R C is gone for good. All that incredible info gone....sad day...
"It has been confirmed. Reef C e n t r a l has lost all recovery files and the databases have been destroyed. We have no way of recovery any of these necessary items.
Reef c e n t r a l will be shut down indefinitely…
Sorry everyone, please do not send any emails inquiring about this issue, if and when we ever come back, believe me/us, you will know. I just thought I would let you all know so you don’t waste anymore time refreshing your browsers hoping for something that is not going to happen…

No just quoting. Beerguy was one of the oldest mods over there I think. This is really terrible in that there was so much information, research, experiment data that is lost. Sad day for our hobby to have this much knowledge lost.

Holy crap! Did they not renew the site and lose it? I was a member of another forum who didn't renew and it appeared everything was lost but was later able to come up with the funding and it was put back out there, no information loss at all.

Wow! I guess all the people who left to go there will be coming back

I hope SWF is learning from their mistake and has everything protected!

Awe man, I just thought of something. Swf is my hide out. My own personnal reef place without all the drama and politics.
If all those people come here, I might cry!
We should ban new membership for about a week!

There was some real arrogance from some of the mods and posters there in the vain of they knew better - holier than though kind of thing. My concern would be an influx of that attitude traveling along to here.
The large system guys (gals) over there really knew their stuff though. Also an international flare in the membership.
There are a lot of great sites on the web but IMO there is nothing to compare to reef c e n t r a l!

our reef club officers received the same email/messages as spanko.
say what you will about the mods and such over there, and their rules, and everything, it was a very big part of the hobby and the loss is not even going to be felt for a while

HMMMM....I guess I must have missed out then...I was a member, but very rarely visitied the site....oh well...my loss apparently
