As for a heater its actually a spare 150w heater I had. But I am going to frisco on Tuesday to get the little 35watt compact heater so I can toss it hopefully into the little HOB I have on there and keep it out of site.

I did see the updated posts and pics. I didnt dig through to see if I actually posted in it but Boy It turned out great. Still my fav for built in.
Thanks for the words, Yeah it isn't too big...Just enough (135 gallon) to make ease my mind and keep me out of the poor house...LOL...And it really wasn't all that much work. It isn't rocket science, but for someone never having done it, it was pretty fun (and challenging at times)...LOL...the framing, cutting, etc was simple...the plumbing and sump/fuge had me thinking a bit.
And sorry, not trying to steal your thread here. I did put a couple of pictures up that I took this weekend. Need to get me a new camera.

Well I have been calling around all morning, and even contacted someone who makes acrylic tanks here locally that is part of another forum. No one seems to have the acrylic tube in stock. I had someone get back to me on a 12" peice a whopping $130 PLUS UPS fees...WHAT???! That is ($#&$(%*&^#$(* insane. So I kindly thanked the woman and told her I was going to have to pass on such a great deal at this time!
I guess I won't be making a DYI ReefForBrains special ...

I really wqant one of these but noone around here has a store that will do this for you. I do want to make my own take with some pieces of acrylic but I dont have a brace so I dont think it would hold.

Triga- people think working with acrylic is like glueing glass and silicone. Its not the smelly sticky mess that silicone is.
With smaller tanks no center brace is needed. You can cheat and just run thicker material too. This will also let you skirt up the tanks size with no brace.

Its from Walmart. Its the little compact swirly one in 6500k. I have since used Blue sharpie over some of the bulb to blue it up a little in the tank. I am sure it would work fine for a fuge.
Did you mean the light fixture itself? Its just a spray painted clip on aluminum shoplight from Walmart also. I just removed the spring clamp and just have it hanging like a pendant from its cord.

REEFFORBRAINS - Greetings

What brand name is the bulb from Wal-Mart and is it labeled as 6500K? The only bulbs I found locally aren't clearly labeled as to their color temperature. Just want to be certain I don't buy some lame-o light bulb

Nice Project!

Thats the bulb, to blue it up a bit, a blue sharpie perm marking pen does wonders.
