Refugium in another room

Just wondering if anyone has any experience in have a refugium set up some distance away from the display tank. I have no room for a decent sized refugium near my tank so I was thinking about going through a wall and putting my refugium there. It wouldn't be more than 6 feet away. And I would be able to keep it fairly level with the show tank. Would the pumps be able to deal with that kind of distance.

I JUST SET UP A REFUGIUM IN THE GARAGE WITCH IS IN THE
NEXT ROOM OFF THE DEN. I SET A SHELF ON TWO HEAVY DUTY
BRACKETS. DRILLED 2 HOLES THRU THE CABINETS THEN THRU
THE WALL. ONE HOLE IS FOR THE SUPPLY LINE HOOKED UP TO A POWERHEAD IN THE SUMP, AND THE OTHER IS FOR THE GRAVITY RETURN. THE CONTAINER IS A RUBBER MAID 30 GAL. OVER THIS
ATTACHED TO BRACKETS IS LIGHTING ON, 24/7. LIVE SAND AND
ROCK, ALSO CALUPORA. SO FAR WORKING GOOD.

Their is no "head pressure" going horazontally only vertical.
Make sure you use the correct size pipe.
