I have a 34 gal Solana and would like to turn a little 2.5 gal into a fuge. Does anyone have any ideas on where to start??

It this to be hidden from view or can it sit on a shelf behind the tank and be another type of display. If done right a small lagoon would look pretty cooll with inverts.

It doesn't have to be hidden, I would like it to be in the stand underneath the tank if possible.

Seems like too much of a hassle to me then. The tank is just to small to house a pump and a drain and a refuge. You will also see the evap in here when you put it on line.
See, above the tank, you can place a power head in the tank (in back where the filter section is) and pump water up to it and let gravity return it. Giving you full use of the tank.

I wish I could fit the tank behind my dt but I would have to move my tank and stand to make any room. I guess I'll just have to put chaeto in the middle chamber and clip a little light on the back.

Can you put a good steady shelf up above the display tank for the 2.5 to sit on?

I could, but I do live in an apartment at the moment. I guess I can always patch up the holes.
