I was looking at getting some green and orange and maybe blue ricordeas, but im doubting SWF.com and their pictures.
I think they must have photographed exceptionally bright rics since they look neon and fluorescent but every picture i find online are dull and pale looking, not bleached, just not neon.
I understand lighting and feeding and overall health makes a difference, but if i ordered some, what would i get? the dull pale ones like these?

or the ones they have photographed?

LOL I found another site that has the exact same picture SWF.com does. So I doubt it is their own stock they photograph.
That said... SWF.com has sent me some very nice corals.
If you want to be sure of what you see is what you get, they do have an eye it and buy it section right under aquarium supplies to the left of this page.

Oceansgarden?
I love rics. Technically anemones as they don't really colonize...but nontheless they are definitely one of my favorite cnidarians.

I usually prefer the brightly colored orange, reds, and pinks.

I don't want to highjack here, but what do you guys do to keep your rics alive? I have some oranges that looked amazing when I bought them, and they have slowely become less vibrant. I actually moved them into a more shaded area to see if they were getting too much light. They were in the top half of a 40 breeder under 6 T5's. Do you target feed them with anything special?

The rics that are pictured here are Floridas my absolute favorite. I just got rid of my Yumas I do not care for them. But as for the Floridas what I have found is that they like to be in a med lit tank with low flow so they are not blowing around. I have a purple one and an orange one, they are getting huge and the color really pop in them. I use just PC 50/50 lights and they are in my pico 3 gal tank and doing very well. I do not target feed them at all, they do catch the odd bit of food when it lands on them but that is about it.
Slower growing than Yumas I think, and not as big but alot prettier in my opinion.
My favorite coral for sure....

Here is a pic of my rics, the camera does not do them justice. The orange is alot more brilliant.
