Right or Not ???

OK, I'm going to start a heated debate and then sit back and watch the fun.
Should abortion be legalized or not?
Some say yes, some say no. To those that say no, I'd like to add that if your wife, girlfriend, or daughter was with child, and the doctor said that at some point that it had to be either your child OR your wife (let's say for reason of argument that it's a health issue). Which one do you save ?????

i am against abortion, but those types of questions are crazy and just to put someone in a corner, its like asking someone who believes in God if God can create a rock to heavy for him to throw..

I'm against it. The baby can be put up for adoption, so it's just wrong to kill it. The only time I would say it's OK is if there was a serious medical problem.

Well lets look at what abortion does.
Abortion stops a beating heart. Ever seen the pictures of an abortion. Pretty gruesome thing to do to a little baby. What has the baby done to deserve to be sliced up, poisoned and vacumed through a tube.
This isnt the same as uprooting a tree or pulling a flower out of the ground. Abortion kills innocent children. People who perform abortions kill babies. When does life begin? Look at it this way, what is ended by an abortion? Pretty simple concept really.
It takes two, I believe Fathers have rights also.
Its not a choice its a child.

my gf's mom works at school teaching young mothers and mothers to be and their babies. they just got 2 13 year olds in there that r 5months pregnant so ya i think it could be useful at times if all involved were for it.

It makes me sad that a person would ever feel that an abortion is their only option. As a father of two young children I find only joy and hope when I look at them and for someone to ever be in the situation where they have to abort their child is devastating and I could not imagine the guilt someone would feel after going through with it. I think it's a terrible choice but I am not a woman and we are blessed to be in a situation where we can give our children every advantage. We plan to adopt our next child.

I understand all the different sides of it. However, being a man I can't say I fully can comprehend the emotions involved.
I think it still comes down to when life begins. Why is abortion legal but thowing a 2 day old baby in the dumpster is considered illegal?
The only difference between a fetus and a new born baby is location. Explain to me when a replicating piece of tissue becomes life and I'll gladly say allow abortions to that point. The problem is science still can't explain what "life" truly is and therefore I believe we should err on the side of caution.
What if 10 years down the road we prove conclusively that "life" begins at conception? We won't be able to bring all those lives back.

Saddens me also, I am (for the most part) Pro Life. But that being said, if there is a medical issue where only one (mother or child) can be helped, I say save my wife. So, I guess in that respect, you could say that I'm Pro Choice.
Or maybe I'm just on the fence.............

Forget whether I'm for it or against it. What I don't get is why so many people go absolutely nuts over this issue and can be indiferent on issues that have consequences that are just as serious. Death penalty, gun control, Draft, Tastes great....less filling etc..

Then you are not 100% against. I guess that's been my point all along, I don't think that anyone can be 100% against or for the issue.

Your right, there are certain circumstances where I could see it to be a wise decision.
However if its a 17 y/old thats been on Dr. 90210 5 times in a year and cant keep a penny between her knees to save her life I think she should own up to her mistake as well as the father or at the very least hold the child for adoption.
Unfortunately I find it hard to believe that the majority (or even a small %) of abortion patients are victims of ----, rather than irresponsible "young adults"
So 99.9% of the time I am going to disagree with it unless some kind of logical evidence shows that ---- Victims and serious disabilities are the cause of the high number of abortions that we encounter nowadays
