I am looking to purchase one of these systems for my 120 gal tank. I have been reading this is a good system---

SpectraPure® Maxpure 25 GPD RO System

Any thoughts or good systems to purchase?

Even with optimum output, that's going to make water very slowly... You'll wish you had of gotten something with more output in a couple of month.

That'll take FOREVER to fill up your tank. I have a 75 GPD RO/DI unit and I've been filling up my 125 gallon tank for the last week or so. You're going to get about 1 gallon per hour so at best you'll probably find yourself getting 10 gallons a day... but you're going to have to devote your whole day to pretty much watching the water and making sure it doesn't overflow. Go for a 75... well worth the price difference.

SPARTY, that makes no sense a 75gpd should give you 75 gallons per day....as a 25gpd should give you 25gallons perday

WHY is it taking you a week????

I have an 18 gallon bucket... assuming I stay at my house all day long, I can empty and fill the bucket every 6 hours IF I decide to fill it to the very top of the bucket. I typically let it fill up to no more than 12 gallons so then I can lift it with no problems and pour it in my tank. So I have to be around every 4 hours... Also you have to keep in mind I don't stay up for 24 hours on the clock... so assuming I have a 14 hour day I can get 42 gallons out of a days work... and that's if I empty and fill immediatly... which I don't do that often so I can find myself getting around 30 gallons a day. Take into consideration that I am typically out of the house for most of the day of week days I can really only get about 4 or 5 hours of water in per day, IF I even feel awake enough after the word day ends, so I can get at most 15 gallons on the week days... you see how it can take someone so long now?

Coulda picked up a long piece of tube to run to your tank and filled it up in a couple of days.

I have a 300gpd RO/DI. Best investment EVEV-AH!! But we are going to invest in a 125gpd that makes 2 gallons of usable RO/DI to 1 gallon waste some time this year.

By no means should you expect to get 75gpd out of the unit. The are to many variables that dictate the actual output. So no it shouldn't be hard to believe he's not getting 75gpd. Just as the unit doing 300gpd..., honestly a waste IMHO.... The rejection rate isn't 98-99%, so I wouldn't have even considered a unit of that size, and waste being already mentioned....
The 25gpd unit will be just fine. Excellent rejection rate on the membrane, and don't worry how long it takes... As Corey suggested a quick connect fitting to extend the production line to the tank and you'll be fine!!!

I LOVE my 300GPD. It the best time, convenience and sanity investment I've ever made. It's one of the most exciting "toys" I've ever bought.

I get pretty close to that with my 75gpd unit
Meowzer!!!! Pretty close!!!!! Again that was the point. Water quality going in, temp, pressure, etc.... Will affect what you get.... Possibly your conditions might be more ideal. Putting a booster pump on possibly could get you 75gpd.

Do you actually get 300g's per day...?? or at least close to it
Nope, because I never had a booster pump and my pressure was not ideal. I knew I was moving, so I planned on investing in one once I saw what the pressure was here. It takes me 30 minutes to make a 5g bucket at a PSI between 60-65.

I had a 75gpd once about a time.

I must have "ideal" conditions then....cause I get almost 3g's an hour......over 24 hours....that would be close to 75g's

I have a pressure meter.....just have not put it on yet

My production goes down in the winter because of the colder temps. Sometimes on hot days it almost overfills the container. So realistic I guess I got 6 gallons in the summer and 5 gallons in the winter per 30 minutes
