i bought a three stage ro unit (no di, could not afford) two things
1. my unit is a ge and it looks like all of the water is supposed to go through the first two stages and then split. one tube goes to the tap where the water is now more clean but not ro. then the other tube goes to the ro membrane then into the holding tank. before that though it can also go to a special drinking focet thingy. is this right? i had always assumed that you got either ro or nothing when hooking the unit up to your sink.
2. ive have been told many times to flush the unit between 2 and four times. durring this flushing my tank will be getting tap. can i use the water im supposed to flush for top off? is it still better than regular tap? i would think that anything would be beter than tap. are there any funky chemicals packaged with new ro units to preserve the unit?
