I got this aneomone about 3 months ago and so far no problems. About 2 weeks ago it went on the move. The problem is it went to the back of the tank under my live rock where there is no light. Question, should i move it back out or should I leave it alone and hope it comes back out?????

Don't move them. The anemones know where they need to be. He might have too much symbiotic algae in his tissue, so he moved to a dark place to let some of it die off. If you move him into the light it is possible you will kill him.
He will move back into the light when he is good and ready. It takes a lot of effort and time for these guys to move around, and you moving him will probably just stress him out and possibly injure his foot.
I had one anemone in the back of my tank where you couldn't see him and I moved him to the front. A portion of his foot was unable to attach to the rock for about a month after I did that.

WELL I guess i could have added a little more info like it had started to turn a little pinkish , he was always white and now about half of him is on the pink side.

I've had the same thing happen to me with a Condi. He moved to the back of the tank and i left him there. He shriveled up to nothing, maybe the size of a quarter. I ended up tosing him because i thought he was dead. I recently bought another one and it too wanted to do the same thing. Only this time i dug it out from the back and put it in the light. Well withing 15 minutes it started to inflate again. An hour later it look great. But as i type this is looks as though it might be trying to make a run for it again. Whats it's deal and should i leave it then? I don't mind leaving it in the back but it it shrivels up to the size of a quarter again. . . :help:

mwaraxa, that's what happened with my condi. it moved to the back and was partially under a rock. shrivelled up and looked like it was dying. I found a rock up top with a hole in it, and put the condi there. it hasn't moved in 3 months and has grown VERY large. I definately think it's happier there than anywhere else in the tank.

Remember these are live animals that know what they need. If the light, and water parameters are good, we should just let them be.
They will find the right spots for themselves.
I found that i moved mine to where I wanted it, and that was no good for my first anemone. Now I just let em be.

"pinkish" is good. a white anenome is a bleached and dying anenome. yours is coming back to life.
just for future reference, you never want to buy a white anenome.
:joy:

Are you putting liquid food into your water....like phytoplex or Microvert? Anemones can feed that way also.....and they do make their own food from the light they receive. Liquid food may sustain the anemone until he comes back out. Also, you can encourage him to move back out by changing the water movement where he is and where he came from - in other words, maybe if the water is "still" where he went, try to aim a powerhead where it moves the water more there - and where he came from make it opposite of what it is now....does this make sense? They move for many reasons - a big one being water movement.
And whoever said above that the pink is good is completely right. Sebae anemones particularly are often injected with white dye to make them very white somewhere between collection and sale at the store. Many lfs do not realize that the white is a sign that they are not in good shape and missing the zooanthella (sp?) that is so vital to their health. I have a seabae that my neighbor bought and he was almost completely white....she brought him to me in the hope that I and my halides could save him. He has nearly tripled in size and is BROWN now.....when my hubby gets home I'll see if he can take a pic and post it. Hopefully the site will show pics again soon - if not, pm me and I'll email you a pic..... Good luck with the seabae anyway - they are beautiful....
