safe to add LS???

is it safe to add live sand to a mature setup at any time to bulk up my biological filtration....will that cause a cycle?

Yes it would definitely start up a mini-cycle. I also added some more sand to my system about 3 months ago and I added bit by bit (like a cup per day) and I checked my water every few days to make sure I wasn't starting up a huge cycle. I am sure you'll be fine if you are not dumping the whole bag in all one time.
