My sally light foot left my corals alone. It just ate and ate and ate all day. Picking whatever off the rocks. When you would put your hand in the water it would eat faster. And if you moved away, it would slow down. A weird panic eater I guess. Boy oh Boy was he fast! he could skip across the back wall in an instant and be on the far side of the tank.
He tripled in size in 2 months. It was about 6" across at the legs when it died. My power went out in the middle of the night, and the temps dropped down to mid 60's. Woke up and he was upside down at the bottom

I will probably get another myself. But then again, Ive heard bad things....so who to say. Me personally. I never had an issue.
Same with my emerald, it makes an appearance every few weeks. Otherwise I never see it really. But Ive never had a problem with it.

I have one and it is fine right now but I keep reading it's when they mature that they can become a problem. I've been thinking about removing it if I can catch it. I don't need the stress of having to worry about it becoming a predator.

I have one in each of my tanks (so I have 3) They are great algae eaters and I have had no problems with them.
ALTHO I would not add more than one...I tried that and always end up with one LOL...

I have an emerald and a sally lightfoot. They have both been in the tank for about 8 months, and so far they seem to only be interested in algae. I will monitor now that I have read this, though.

I had a SLF. Named him louis, he had a TON of personality. If I put my finger up to the glass he'd zig-zag over and try to eat it. xD Sadly one day I found him colorless at the corner of the tank. I knew it wasn't a molt when he didn't come out to eat that day (he used to eat out of my hands). Loved that guy, he was a big part of my tank. Iw ont get another to replace him, it wont be as cool. lol
Never had a problem with fish, inverts, or coral though he loved to sit on my scoly and it didn't like that too much.

I had one that I enjoyed for about 2 years and then he started attacking fish. Killed 2 small fish at night. He was GONE. My kids would love to have one, but never again!
