Every tank is different and you really can't guess. Just let it do it's thing. Check readings every few days.
Take this time while you are waiting to do more reading on the hobby and put together your wish stock list. When you get it together post the list and get advice on what will work and if any changes are needed.

Coral,
What Joe is saying is that it is surprising that you are showing nitrate levels this early.

Exactly Steve if he is curing with live rock he needs die off to start the cycle His ammonia would have to spike start to fall and he should spike the nitrites and then start to see a small rise in nitrates if any at all in two weeks I heard of a quick cycle but those numbers just seem odd to me
If his rock was fully cured and loaded with nitrifying bacteria why get an ammonia reading at all unless he is throwing copious amounts of food in

ok i find reading nitrates in a tank you are cycling in the third day hard to believe
I thought the same thing myself, so I let it keep going. I tested for several days and all the levels rose and fell accordingly. Fish and cleaners seem to be doing well so far.
