First off hi everyone. This is my first post as I am very new to salt water. Just wanted to say this site rocks it has helped me so mush on the setup of my new tank. Just recentely Ive started to have a problem with diatomic algae and was wondering if anyone could help me???? My levels are as follows:
NO2=0.05
NO3=0
AM=0
PHOS=.2
PH=8.2
I run a 30 gallon wet dry with 1200 gallon pump, a ProClear 250 skimmer, a Fluval 404, a Phosban reactor w/ phosban to control phosphates and cant get rid of this.
My tank contains:
3 yellow tail damsels
1 blue hippo
2 cleaner shrimps
2 blood red fire shrimps
1 sand sifting star
For the last week Ive been running my lighting no longer than 4 hrs daily the light themselves are nothing special just your base lights you receive when you buy your tank - LFS. Any recommendations would be great.
