Sarah Needs to brush up on her American History

Well now Sarah says she was right all along -
Palin, a paid Fox News contributor, told "Fox News Sunday" that she was correct. She says there were British soldiers in the area for years before Revere's legendary ride, and that he was warning them, as well as his fellow colonists.
The Paul Revere House's website says that on April 18, 1775, Dr. Joseph Warren instructed Revere to ride to Lexington, Mass., to warn Samuel Adams and John Hancock that British troops were marching to arrest them
So instead admitting she had a "brain fart", and during a rushing moment she made a verbal gaffe about the historical value of Paul Revere's Ride, she comes up with some outlandish claim that since British soldiers were living in the area, then technically he was warning them as well. Riiight, Revere wanted to warn the ENEMY that their fellow countrymen were coming to arrest two American Statesmen. That makes perfect sense.
Open mouth, insert foot.

Brain fart she did but she was historically accurate about the effect of the ride on the British loyalists living in the area although that wasn't the purpose of the ride. Part of the reason for warning Hancock and Adams was because of the large stash of weapons they had and needed to move so the British couldn't take them. She would have done better to say she just got her words twised and it came across badly then made her points.

Actually you all are wrong. It was dr. Samuel prescott that delivered the warning the british were coming. Paul revere was captured and never delivered the message (he did escape later however) there was also another rider that was suppossed to give the warning as well. He never made it..as he got lost in the woods.
So all of you arguing over this, have inserted your own feet in your mouth. Welcome to Palins world.

And who do we have to most likely thank for Revere getting the acknowledgement? The other rider was William Dawes.

That would be longfellow....his poem sounded better using paul revere.
However, revere did make the famous engraving that stirred up the people at the boston masacre......he was also some sort of famous silversmith...so of the three guys, he was already" famous".

Depends on how far you are talking about the message going. Revere never made it to Concord, but he did spread the word at several other locations and was the one that passed the word onto Prescott who was not there to even do what he did. Dawes, Revere and Prescott all got busted, dawes and Prescott escaped and prescott warned the militants at Concord. after that warning there were several others dispatched to several more communities.
I don't know about silversmith, but I do know that Revere is credited with being the pioneer of flattening out copper into rolls (as ive heard it) a process that is still used today. You may have heard of a brand name in the steel and aluminum siding business Gentek/Revere. I'm in the siding business myself so Ive heard of this on numerous occasions.

Revere did warn Hancock and Adams in Lexington. It was after he and the other two riders got cracked on the way to Concord with Prescott and Dawes escaping. Dawes lost his horse and Prescott went on to Concord.

This is a funny article.
http://www.bostonherald.com/news/us_politics/view/2011_0606you_betcha_she_was_right_experts_back_palins_historical_account/
"In fact, Revere’s own account of the ride in a 1798 letter seems to back up Palin’s claim. Revere describes how after his capture by British officers, he warned them “there would be five hundred Americans there in a short time for I had alarmed the Country all the way up.”
Boston University history professor Brendan McConville said, “Basically when Paul Revere was stopped by the British, he did say to them, ‘Look, there is a mobilization going on that you’ll be confronting,’ and the British are aware as they’re marching down the countryside, they hear church bells ringing — she was right about that — and warning shots being fired. That’s accurate.”"
I particularly like this part, - The Ruben Translation- Well what she said was historically accurate, but she meant to be wrong. Because she isn't smart enough to know the details of the ride.
"Patrick Leehey of the Paul Revere House said Revere was probably bluffing his British captors, but reluctantly conceded that it could be construed as Revere warning the British.

“I suppose you could say that,” Leehey said. “But I don’t know if that’s really what Mrs. Palin was referring to.”

The woman obviously knew more about it than most folks do. But when you think of Revere you don't think of him warning the Brits. She just brain farted.
Could you imagine the press hay day if this had been Palin? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eSko2ixEB8U
I love how Democrats spend every moment of legislative time, appointing judges that tell high school students that if they say specific words like amen, or have a graduation in a building (the same building they've been having it for 50 years) with a cross on it, and don't cover the cross up. That they're going to go to jail. Then stand up and make up stories like that.

We were writing about the leftist media not making a big deal of speaking errors made by dems-the link reef put up had this little gem linked to it. Maybe this is why Queen Nancy wanted to keep spending so much-she thought a whole lot more people were unemployed.(?)
