I thing you are kidding yourself if you think the Pistons would have won this series if the coaches were switched.
Just my Humble Opinion,

Check Flip's all-time record out in the playoffs with seven straight first round series losses.......and then go back and read this thread. Try play selection, substitutions, adjustments, game plans, etc.
Flip still has yet to figure it out.....he could not even get the team to the nba finals.
Like all sports, the playoffs start a new season and play and coaching in elevated....you need both...Detriot was handicapped on the bench with Flip....check his playoff record out...it is HORRIBLE!!! THe Tony Dungy of basketball.

Even Flip's own players realize he is a handicap in the playoffs....
Form a Steve Kerr article
There has been so much talk in recent days about coach Flip Saunders and his offensive ways, and whether or not he has Detroit as prepared defensively as it was under Larry Brown. Ben Wallace even went so far as to publicly criticize Saunders for a lack of attention to defense in practice.

What an awesome game that was last night! Heat by one point in OT. For Wade being hurt he definately put on a show the second half.

You mean the refs??
That was scandalous the free throws they gave him for nothing! He shot about 10 on ridiculous phantom calls away from the ball. Ypu breathe on wade and its a foul. Also, he went after the ref like ive never seen a player and didnt get called for a tech after he didnt get another phantom call on the last shot of regulation. NO Maverick could have done what he did and not get t'd up! The NBA has annointed shaq and wade as their frontmen and will do what they have to to protect them. Business as usual for the NBA, always favoring the stars. Will be nice when they just officiate a game regardless of who is playing like the NFL does. NFL refs may make mistakes but they dont let the players get away with murder just because they are "stars"!

I see where you're comin from. That's how I feel about Dirk. He falls down every time he shoots and thinks he was fouled. I can't stand him as a player. He's the biggest baby and complainer ever. All he does is whine that he was fouled when he can't make anything. They all have bad nights ya know.
Keep in mind Mavs had the lead almost the whole game. It's not the refs fault they didn't hold the lead. Also Miami missed a ton of free throws I'm suprised they hung with the Mavs. The Mavs need to make their free throws in clutch situations. Dirk choked I think in game 3. He's a 90% shooter too. All I can say is GO HEAT!

lol, i guess you havent been watching basketball very long. this is something new dirk has been doing. he was always the one taking the fouls like a man and if he got fouled, he would just keep playing. since everyone he plays against, like dwyane wade specifically tries to get every foul immaginable, this season he thought he would do the same. the refs are just favoring the allstars as stated above.

Why are they the all-stars? Oh, because they are the best, which means they play better ball and they are going to win.

I've been watchin ball for long enough. I'm just not a Dallas fan by any means and absolutely not a Dirk fan. He's a baby. I love watchin the play offs and stuff so I see more of his type of play and every time it's a flop or crying because he didn't get the foul. I try to watch a little of the Mavs and Dirk being a cry baby as possible. Right now I watch it cause its the finals for gods sake. Sorry if you're a fan of his or anything I just can't stand him.
You might not be able to stand my favorite player. It's Allen Iverson. A lot of people hate him and a lot of people love him and that's ok with me.

people think wayde is the next MJ, but hes not. he rapes the back board everytime he drives the ball. thats not skill in my book, any one can put the ball to the back board and have it go in, thats why that colored square is there, you hit the ball there and it goes in. now taking a 3 point shot like every one of the pistons can do, besides ben, who did make a three point shot in 2005, now they have skill. and shaq, when was the last time you saw this guy shoot the ball like a person, every time its a one handed hook. he takes more than one step away from the rim, and its almost a guaranteed miss.
once again, i dont really like the mavs, i just hate heat. the pistons are my favorite team because there starting 5 are all allstars, and rasheed has been my favorite player since he was on the trailblazers.
and since ive been routing for the mavs, ive noticed harris and glenn are really good players, so i think they deserve some credit.

So what your saying is that a person who uses the BB hasn't got skills. Well, that is what the BB is there for. That is what the painted square is there for. Wayde simply uses his resources to his advantage. I do agree, he will never be the next MJ. Like I've said before, I really don't care who wins(because Im a Pacer fan), but I would rather see Heat win because they are from the east. I also won't lie to myself, Heat are the better team, thats just how it is. As for the Pistons, those starting five do have talent, as far as the whole team,LMAO, never. The starting five are good but they run there mouths to much and the Pistons(really just Ben Wallace and Rasheed Wallace) are a very un-profesional team. They show no class what-so-ever. These debates are probably the funnest things about sports, everyone has they're teams don't they. lol.

thats exactly what im saying. if you use the back board every shot, then you have no skill. i play basketball pretty much everday of my life. theres nothing worse than playing against someone who abuses the backboard. theres a difference between using the BB, and abusing the BB, and what wayde does is abuse. and i really dont think any sports should have class. thats what youre there for, to talk sh** before the game then back it up and come out with a win. a hate people who say show some sportsmanship, if you lose, you have a right to be pissed and basically hate the other team. sports are there to prove whos the best of the best, not to have a good time, and thats what you see from basically every professional sports team.

I also play Basketball almost every day, have been since I was 10 years old. As far as the BB goes, you do what you have to do to put the ball in the hole. If your defense can't stop it, then you better work on your defense. I don't know where you learned to play sports, but if you lose, you do not have the right to be pissed and hate the other team. You should congradulate their win and work harder to become better. I'm not saying you can't talk sh!t during the game to get under the other teams skin, but you don't hate them after the game because their talent exceeds yours. Thats basically being a crybaby

[hr]
because you just got beat. You're right, sports are to prove who is the best of the best, but you are there to have a good time also. If you didn't have fun playing, then no one would want to be an athlete. Thats like saying when I play ball with my friends and lose, I should hate my friends. OK.
This thread will be over after tonight, Heats got this series in the bag.

Teen is crackin me up. Abuse the backboard are you serious? It wouldn't be there if it wasn't meant to be used. It's like sayin somebody who shoots really well from the 3 pt line should only do it every once in a while. If it works for you and it wins you ball games then continue to do it. Why not use what works?

Rik Smits was a really great center.
Jeff Foster is good, but he's no Shaq.

true Smits was a good center but even Novitski is better stat wise as a 7' plus forward... Smits was not as nimble as the 7' plusers today... he did not dominate... Hakeem maybe Kareem or even Simpson... would still get worked in todays game...
