sea urchin with white things

my sea urchin has several small white round things on top of it and appeared to be releasing them yesterday, is that normal?

could they be eggs?
because my long-spinned urchin will climb to the very top of my tank and release into the water what appears to be semen only happeneds during the summer and not always on a full moon

Poop would be my guess.

My pencil urchin eats of the live rock. He bites of small bits and eats it. When hes is done cleaning of the smal bits of live rock they will come out his top.
So what you see could be small bits of live rock.

I agree. Poop.
Mine does the same thing. Depending on what he eats will change what dumps out the top. The gf has even seen a little curly piece of cheato come out. :scared:

poop for sure, the first thing mine did when i put it in the tank was drop bombs all over. Mine poops like crazy. :happy:

Can urchins eat enough of your LR to become a problem?

I havent seen an issue with mine eating LR.
