SeaClone Skimmer help

So I just hooked up my seaclone 100 on my 20gal which is replacing my emperor 280 filter. I know there is a break in period that can take a week depending on bioload. My question is, Are the bubbles going into my tank part of the break in period or should I adjust valve til they disappear?

You should have no bubbles going into your tank, so adjust the valve some more.

i have a seaclone and although i'm upgrading to an asm asap i have always been able to get decent skimmate from the seaclone. a lot of people hate them, i guess i have the magic touch. if you turn the control knob left, until there is a large air bubble trapped in the u-tube then slowly turn it to the right until that air bubble goes away (the skimmer will make a big-bubbling noise as that bubble goes through it, that is how i adjust mine and like i said, i've had it work well almost regularly. the break in period for me was about two weeks. hope this helps a little.

+1....I had 2 (now 1) and I had no problems either...I upgraded because my tank is a 225g, and I got a sump with a built in skimmer

Mine took about 3 weeks to really settle down.
Until it was a daily check. I would turn the air on slowly until there was bubbles going into tank. Then back it down just to the point that the bubbles stop. (Do this with very small adjustments and then wait a few seconds to see if you are there)
Once you get it dailed in it works great. I am removing atleast a half of a cup daily and it is very dark and smelly. My tank has a small bioload, I am amazed as to how much it pulls out.

If you get it dialed in you will be pleased with your purchase.

If it is adjusted correctly...no air in u-tube, no bubbles going into dt...you should get something soon I would think

OK, if you open the valve all the way, there will be an air bubble in the u-tube....turn the valve SLOWLY...just until that bubble goes away

During the first couple of weeks, I kept adjusting trying to get something. Just keep it adjusted so that you just barely keep any air bubbles out of tank. I still get the best results from mine when I have it set with a stray bubble every now and then. It is hard to keep right there but that is what I shot for. I will get about a half a cup a day.

Yes make sure it is the MJ1200. They run about 25$ online. So 30$ local aint that bad if you want to count shipping costs.
