say Lisa, I miss your input and tank pics, so if you happen to catch this post, love to hear from you

I'm really sorry you guys... I didn't mean to make you worry. True...I'm having a terrible hard time getting over the death of Apache (silly, I know)... and I've been working very hard to get my sh tank back to where I want it after his demise (hair algae... really crappy). The hair blew to great proportions from trying to keep Apache fed while he was having problems.
On the other hand, Navajo and Inca are doing wonderfully, and I love them... always hungry, it seems. Inca is still as red as the day I got her (she better be a "her"), no more males for this sh keeper.
Also, I'm on the waiting list here at SWF.com for a new pair when they become available.
I'll try to be around a bit more... just don't expect pictures till I have things under control.

So good to hear from you, and no..it's not silly. I miss my horses too, especially Valiant.
I can't imagine you sh tank ever looking over grown. As for the reef tank yes, how's the war with the xenia going?!
I sure look froward to pictures of you lovely ladies, I bet they've grown quite a bit.

Thanks Ryk,
I feel a little silly posting about my grief over a "stupid fish"...I can't believe how much I miss Apache... but that's gotten much better, especially after tonight when I noticed Navajo and Inca inter-mingling and having fun together in their tank... finally.
As far as my tank being over grown... yeah, hair algae everywhere, just a constant reminder of my little Apache. I'm working at getting rid of it though. My girls are grown considerably, and thankfully Inca has retained her red color... at this point that is the way I tell them apart (well, Inca is a TINY bit smaller than Navajo).
Oh man, don't get me started on the xenia war... sheesh.
I'm really looking forward to getting another pair of kudas from this site... hopefully this coming spring.

Well....that was the shortest, and saddest theory that has blown up in my face.

29 V.S. the 5.5 test results are:

Originally(aprox. 45 days ago), I put in 20 ponies into the 29. Then a batch of 14 babies was born, a total of 34.
Yesterday I setup the 5.5 and proceeded to collect the ponies from the 29.
Yesterday's Pony Count:
The adult pony count after 20 minutes of "fishing" was 7...the juvenile count was 5...the baby pony count was 5( 2 of the babies were extremely skinny)...
There was a loss of 17 ponies.
as I continued to clean out the 29 I found many corpses of the missing ponies.

Rykna, Although those were the results I expected, I'm awfully sorry you had to find out that way. Keep your chin up, and keep plugging with what you have left. You will still find it rewarding in the long run, albeit frustrating at times.

Ty Luke~ Sadly, I'd have to say...death was due to starvation.

i would say a tank like that would need to be very established like that needed for a mandarin..,need a good qty of pods and havens for the to produce...as well with the bbs...just not as easy to mimic right off the bat
