Hi My name is Mike and am relavitly new to saltwater. I have a couple of condis in my 55. I just bought a sebae and he looks really white. I got him on Wednesday. I set him on the cc I have in the bottom of my tank. He has not moved yet. My condis are doing very well one is about 3-4 " and the other is about 2-3" and they eat all the time. The sebae has not eaten or moved. I was think about getting a pair of false Percs today. What do you guys feed your sebaes? do you think the Percs will help him?
Any help would be great thanks
Mike

I have 2 NO 40w one is 6500k and the other is a atinc(spelling). I know its not alot of light. I also have a small yellow tang. I got him before I read about not having them in that small a tank. I have read (don't remeber where) that the sebae doesn't need alot of bright lighting is this true? I hope so:confused:

Hey Mike,
I have some sad news for you. A healthy Sebae is a dull brown color. Bright white means it has expelled all of it's Zooxanthellae algae and is currently starving to death. This is referred to as bleaching.
I have heard of saving them by feeding it as many Lancefish as it can eat every other day. If the tenticles are no longer sticky or it's not eating then I'm afraid it's days are numbered. This is the normal fate of 99%+ of Sebae imported for aquarists.

Thanks for the help.
I called the LFS and they said I could bring him back. I bought him when they just got there shipment in. They didn't even have him in there tanks yet. I got him and a cleaner shrimp for $34. The shrimp is doing great.
Thanks again:)
PS what is a ane. that a False Perc will host to and that will live?

You could search for a tank Propogated Bubbletip or Rose Anemone. They will not be cheap but they will live long-term in an aquarium.
May I suggest Green Hairy Mushrooms? Perc's live in them and they are much easier to care for. You current light is fine if you feed the mushrooms. My Percs feed the mushroom for me.
