Seeding a DSB?

I'm starting a new tank... 35 gallon with 3-4" DSB. I'd like to seed it with sand from my 58 gallon (up and running for years and years), but in the 58 I used crushed coral and coarse sand. (Mistake.)
Any thoughts on a way to seed the new DSB without bringing in a bunch of the coarser sand? How much sand do I really need to get the job done?
Thanks for any advice.

Maybe you could ask your LFS for a cupful of the crud in the bottom of their LR curing tanks. Lotsa goodies in there.

Thanks Kara... :) Good idea.
I forgot to add... I'll be using 55# of fully cured LR and lots of cycled water in the new tank that I'm moving from the old tank. So I'm not looking for cycle help, more just to get some life into the sand faster, if that makes sense.

If you place a few pounds of your crushed coral in some Nylons or some other filter then the animals from the CC can migrate into the sand.
