Shark in a 55g

I went to the worst fish store ever today! it was in Elizabeth City in NC. They had a foot long shark in a 55g tank. he just sat there in the corner of the tank. He can't even turn around if he tried. They have probably 6 tanks of saltwater with no live rock in any of the tanks. All they have are crushed coral bed, heater, and filter in the tank. all of the CC has brown filth all over the place and since he is the only pet store in the town everybody in that town is forced to buy from them. I feel really bad for all of the fish there!

Although, do you really know how Saltwaterfish.com houses their fish? You are assumming they are better then some of the lfs out there like ncprowler is talking about. It is a good assumption even though all we really have to go on is the good condition in which we receive the livestock from them and the design of the website. None of that tells us how SWF.com takes care of the animals. We just go on peoples word but none of us have seen their facilities, at least not that I know of.
I still buy my fish from SWF.com

Does it make ANY sense wat-so-ever that consistently good quality fish would come from poor quality facilities?.... :notsure: Bad facilities = bad fish, good facilities = good fish.

No it doesn't make sense, but have you actually seen their facility? I could be that they don't keep a lot of stock.
We have a local salt water only store that is always filthy but their fish are very healthy. I would buy corals and fish, and inverts from them but I won't buy dry goods because they are way to expensive so I buy it from here.
