I have got a 55gal salt water tank no fish yet and its cycling right now my question is that i want to have a community tank but my wife wants a shark is there any kind of small shark that i can get that isn't very aggressive thanks alex

There is no shark remotely suited for a 55 gallon tank. Stick with small community fish that won't outgrow the tank; clowns, gobies, basslets, chromis, small wrasses, etc..

Yep, I agree. All sharks grow much too extremely large for a 55.

Sharks should also only be handled by very experienced hobbyists.

Many freshwater fish are labeled "sharks". They are not.
Sharks are difficult to keep and the smallest grow over 2 feet.
Get a good book like Michael's "Marine Fishes" I'm sure your wife can find plenty of fish she'll enjoy.

well you got most of the sharks and an x-shark saying NO SHARKS in a 55 gallon tank LOL
And I have to agree no sharks they wont be happy in that small of a tank

i had sharks years ago in my tank. had a nurse, a wobbygong, and a horn. they were really cool to watch but man do they make a mess. im tired of aggressive tanks and want an easy going pellet/flake fed tank now. im excited not to defrost squid anymore

Nurse shark? but only with larger fish. - the nurse shark can get up to 14 feet long though...
