hi my parents bought me some nice shells from cape cod today and was wondering if i boil them in water can i put them in my tank? will the boiling water get rid of all the germs?

I have gotten alot of shells from the ocean and from stores and put them in my tank. I just make sure they are clean. I have had the same tank up and running for almost two years with no problems.

My suggestion would be to soak them in a 1:10 solution of Bleach & water and then rinse them really well & air dry 24 hours.
