They're commonly called the Weed of the SPS tank but this year has been a Montipora sp. year for me. I traded for some small frags in the beginning of the year and some are starting to look good. I have so many "favorites" post pictures of yours.
Anyone able to ID this one?? Golfish????

Well Bang, this is the only one i have, so i guess it is my favorite.
Man, they grow fast. This thing has like doubled in the last month!!!!

I've been reading up on these things some and I read that they dont require the lighting most sps do. Would it be acceptable for me to keep one in a powercompact lit tank? (46 gallon, two 96 watt pc's)?

IMO that's still not enough.
Here's my favorite, my red/blue "danae." This isn't much of a weed like other montis though, and mine is still a small frag.

I lost a few very nice montis early in the summer...amoung the losses was my small montipora danae frag...

But I did manage to save most of my corals and my current favorite is my montipora peltiformis...about twice the size as when I got it and still doing well...

Promise! That pink Cap is awesome. How big was it when you got it? It's stunningly beautiful. I like the Orange Digitata colony too. Nice colors.
Here's my purple Cap.

Sadly I had some heat related issues that caused me some serious problems....in total I lost 7 pieces....but things have stabalised and returned to normal....I'm considering a few on-line purchases in the very near future to replace the lost pieces.

I got this one about a month ago, it was pretty bleached out to a yellow-ish color. It seems to be regaining its green under my VHO lighting...
