shrimp question

Im new and I dont know very much that is why I am here. I am posting because I want to go to the LFS and buy 2 (maybe 1) cleaner shrimp. I want to buy them just because. No specific reason. I need to know if my tank is suitable right now to buy them. I have a 45 gallon with about 30 lbs of live rock that has been in there for almost a month. I have three damsels. I have 10 turbo snails. I read on the site it says keep 1 per 20 gallons, but ive heard from my friend and the LFS that i can have around 10-15. If that could be cleared up too that would be great. Also I have 10 hermit crabs that are fairly small. Given that I was wondering if my tank was suitable for shrimp at this time.
Here is a pic of my tank as of now. It is going to be a reef tank.

I didn't get to see the pic. What are your ammonia/ nitrate/ nitrite tests telling you?? When you asked about 1 per 20 gallons, what were you referring to... Turbos? Lbs of live rock? fish?

under the mexican turbo snail it says "These snails will continue to grow their shell over time, if the aquarium is kept at proper calcium levels. Keep one per 20 gallons. "
and also what about the shrimp?

I was typing the same time as you, sorry for the confusion.
O.K. I looked... The snail that is one per 20 gal is the MEXICAN turbo snail not the turbo.
Do you know which snails you have??

Buy lots of algea sheets, because they are like lawn mowers. I have 5 in my 90 and they jump on the sheets because they cleaned all of my algea pretty quick (I only added them about 2 weeks ago!)

Yup, I'm inclined to believe that you are correct sir!! about the snails. But about the shrimp, if you know your tank has cycled and your sure that your water params are 0's, then I see no reason that you shouldn't or can't add a cleaner, but be advised that 4 weeks is an awful fast cycle. (Wondering if it is in fact, done.)

alright well i have enough algae to cover the snails i guess so another question. does anyone have a website that can help me out with cycling my tank and also would i be able to add a yellow tang to my tank before it is done cycling?

Do not add the tang before the cycle ends! Most people on this board will say your tank is not large enough for a tang. I would wait. I have only been into SWF for about 5-6 months, I wish I had found this site earlier, and I wish I would have been more patient. I killed my first group of fish by not waiting long enough, and adding to many fish at one time. Since then my trigger and puffer and SFE seem very happy. I am looking for my next addition.
