How do you start a siphon on an overflow box with curved hard plastic tube
siphon for over flow box Help needed quick

do u mean a hang on over flow?
that has a U-tube?
if so then u have to get a piece of air line tubing, put the piece of airline tubing in the U-tube right were the curve is on the U
MAKE SURE THE AIR LINE U PUTINSIDE THE TUBE IS LONG ENOUGH FOR U TO SYPHON IT WHILE INSIDE THE OVERFLOW BOX!
place the U-tube inside the overflow and syphon the air line u put inside of it
be prepared to get a lil saltwater in ur mouth
look in the U-tube while syphonin, wen the water from the overflow to the drain (depends on ur set up) thats inside the U-tube reaches the curve of the U pull the air line tubing out and there u go
it took me 2 tries so keep on goin
ill stay on this board and tell me if u need any help

Thanks I got help We almost had a mess on our hands had to turn everything off at first or we would of had a major flood. does the size of the tube we use matter I used one that was just a little smaller then the u tube what a time trying to get it out without loosing the siphin but I did it

how did u almost have a flood?
i first siphoned the u-tube and then i turned everythin on
the air line tubing in the u-tube doesnt need to b as big as the U-tube it self
mines is small and it works lol
u shouldve gotta an air line tube with ur U-tube at least mine did

We got it used. Well we tried to get a siphon started by flipping the tube and filling it completely with water then turning it over in the box. lol We got a partial siphon but to slow for the pump so our tank started to fill very quickly and a little water was going into the filter

Yes it is flowing real nice and we have the same eco3 trickle wet dry on a 55 gallon aquarium getting ready to start the protein skimmer now
