my Frag fell off:(
theres like a thin layer of coral left on the LR, will it still grow eventually?
does it grow by photosynthetic cell division?
the frag is now in the corner on the sand were there is no flow, so i think it might attach there and grow:D

The tank looks cool.
Clowns should be interduced to a tank in pairs.

yeh i know but if there not the new one should be smaller. so i'll give that ago,
if that fails, i could put both fish in separate tanks for a couple weeks, then introduce them into the tank again at same time. works sometimes:D

I know you just changed the rockwork but, I have heard that if you change it up when the new one goes in, it will incease your chances. The teritory is all messed up.
Good Luck. I hope it works out for you.

that doesn't sound like ich. Did you look through the pictures in the disease section? Ich wouldn't kill a perfectly healthy fish in less than 24 hours.
Is the LR you're using the same LR from when the angel had ich?

Ah, not sure about that. I believe that Ich attacks the gills first in most cases. The fish could have had it with no outward signs. Maybe someone more knowledgeable will chime in here.

Yeah, but 24 hours? This fish was happy as could be. This wasn't even 24 hours, it was overnight.
Skate, I know you had ich on your angel, which it most likely was, but are you positive it was ich?
If these are the same rocks that you were using when you're angel had ich, the clown may very well have gotten ich from them. You didn't QT them long enough, remember me telling you that?
Also, are all your fish coming from the same LFS? I think your LFS has a parasite problem (probably ich) and as a result you keep introducing it to your tank.

yehh most of them are from one place. but i QT'd this fish for a week under hypo then another week bringing it up.
it was the same rock, which could of been it, but my main tank that had it was fishless for a while.
the fish was only in the tank a few days. it wasnt stratching against any rocks or anything, just woke up and suddenly COVERED in white spots, there were too small to be anything else. but yeh, just died:(

It wasn't fishless for long enough, I remember telling you this. 45 days, at minimum, in my opinion is what a tank needs to be fishless for the parasite to die. If it was ich, more than likely it came from the rock.

fair enough. my angler died too this morning :(
i dont know why because my water parameters are fine, i think its because my LFS where i got it over fed it, and the rotting food in the stomach killed it:(
i may have to take this tank down for a little bit.
i think i may have to use the lamp for a light on my sump, i was going to use the one on my DT but im going to keep that on it. will eventually put it up again. at some point

Sounds like a good idea.
Now listen:
NO MORE FISH UNTIL MID-JANUARY! You've got to get rid of this ich. It was probably ich that killed the angler as well. If it attacked his gills, he's done.
Seriously.

Your manderin will be fine. They dont contract ick. I agree on letting the tank run fallow or with just the manderin for 6-8 weeks.
Sorry to hear about your bad luck.

Your mandarin PROBABLY won't get ich. Although they have a slime coat on their skin, they can still get ich in their gills. It's unlikely that it will, but you haven't had the best luck thus far.
