Your mandarin PROBABLY won't get ich. Although they have a slime coat on their skin, they can still get ich in their gills. It's unlikely that it will, but you haven't had the best luck thus far.
Ok, luck aside. The manderin CAN get ick. It is not like other fish as BTLDreef has stated. I just dont think there will be a problem. I have never read of a case. They always seem to be determined to be a wound of some sort. It is better off in the display IMO, if it doesn't eat prepaired foods.

LOL ... honestly, I told him the same thing you just told him earlier about the mandarin and Cranberry slapped me down, LOL. Considering his luck lately, I'm not risking anything

nah nothing till march probably.
which is good cos then my new tank can fully cycle.
speaking of which i paid for today, got some extra's tho, so it ended up costing me £908.10
comes with sump, cabinet, and closed hood, (made sure i got closed hood cos i want an eel
got so now i've got, the 130g tank, a 55g sump with 4 compartments so i can have a fuge.
sand and LR for sump.
and the tank comes with an overflow box so its good and i asked for a blue vinyl background too
i've got enough LR and sand for only the sump. but atleast whilst im waiting for income the tank will be bare but the LR and stuff in the sump will cycle it.
but i still need to buy, return pump, skimmer, enough LR for main tank, and sand, UV steriliser for QT and lights.
so ima try get all that before tank arrives. guy said it'll be about 8 weeks from today. so after christmas im going to buy all that. my dad can get my pipework for the tank, he works in building industry so he can get it all cheap.
so i dont have finances to buy a fish untill maybe feb. so yeh.
