Hey guys first late me say happy turkey:
I am haveing a hard time about a skimmer, I have 2 choices and lets just say I like good stuff. etss reef devil or # 500 or aqua c 180 or 240. I read both web sites and material , I am leaning to the reef devil. One thing I still don't understand clearly:
the skimmer is to remove waste that is produced from the fish and it takes the load off of the rock and sand , in other words it converts everything to nitrates and it keeps the nitrates a low level. I was told the more use of corals the less powerful skimmer is needed TRUE or FALSE and the more fish the stronger the skimmer TRUE or FALSE.
DO I NEED TO MATCH THE FLOW RATE OF MY RETURN PUMP TO THE SAME FLOW RATE AS THE SKIMMER:
EXAMPLE - MAG 7 TO SKIMMER -- MAG 7 FOR RETURN PUMP
IF MY TANK IS A 90 GAL AND 20 GAL SUMP AND I want fish and coral what is the best way to go in the size of a skimmer, it is not going to be a full reef.
can a skimmer be to powerful for a reef , meaning to much removal.
thanks alot if anyone can answer these final question so I can get a skimmer during the holiday.
"this sounds like a question for broomer " * what do you think guys ? or can a skimmer expert come to my rescue "help"
I will never ask another skimmer ? again
thanks happy turkey
