dans site says 30 to 40 gal for 2 pair. I kinda think 2 pair may be crowded if they get 7 to 8 inches long in a 29 gal
a 40 tall is 30 x 12 1/2 x 25 tall.
a 45 is 36 x 12 1/2 x 25
no special lighting for just horses, unless you want macros, then at least pcs

My first horse tank was a cube of sorts. It was a 37 ga. 20x18x24 I think

Something to start looking into.....But in all reality...I have too much going on right now to justify another purchase....at least of a new tank anyway...lol...I am still adding to all my other tanks....
Maybe i will plan on something like this for my b'day present to myself in October...Thats when I got Bigun and Skinny....If I get a new tank then...it can cycle and be ready by Christmas

So sorry, Lois . . . it's so hard to lose our "pets", regardless of whether they are furred, feathered, or finned. Don't beat yourself up too much - we'll never know why both horses died but Lord knows you did all you could to find out and fix it!
I think a new tank, dedicated to seahorses, sounds like an EXCELLENT birthday gift. Take a break from horses for a few months and by the time summer is wrapping up and you're indoors more you'll have something to look forward to. Besides, half the fun is in planning and you can start that now. :)

So sorry for all your horse losses. It sounds like my horse. One day she was fine. The next she didn't eat but was swimming. The next day she was gone.
Take a break and clear the air from this sad time. That's what I had to do when I lost my horse.
It has been 9 months and I still wonder if I am ready for horses again...lol
But I do want to start a 55 to 75 gallon FO as I want a yellow tang...lol
