My cousin works for the IRS in that building. I called my aunt, and he was there, just on a different floor. Came out fine. He did say it knocked several people out of their chairs when the plane hit the building and exploded.

We were discussing this on another forum...did you guys see that he had blown up his house earlier in the day? Evidently his wife and daughter were still home when he did so. I read that neighbors helped pull them from the burning home.

What a fruitcake.

The wife and kids weren't in the house. The report is him and his wife had a major argument the night before, and she left with the kids. One of the neighbors talked to a local news reporter, and said they've been having problems, and they were talking about divorce. The guy defintely had a screww loose. Here's a link to the 'note' he left on his web site before he took off. Even ended with a date (1956 - 2010):

He's a bit on the crazy side, but the manifesto does have some really good points that I think people from either party would probably agree with.

I don't think Beck or anyone else should be discussing the "good" points of his manifesto, everyone did catch the part where this whack-job was complaining about the IRS and still could afford to fly his OWN plane into the building. Sounds to me like someone who blames his problems on everyone else, when more than likely his problems where caused by his own actions.
I do think it will be an interesting discussion to decide if this was domestic terrorism or not, especially when compared with what the nutter at FT. Hood did.

Not sure how that really matters? If Bill Gates was taxed or treated unfairly, just because he has billions, doesn't grant him the right to complain about unfair treatment?
His plane was a Piper PA-28-236 Dakota. Worth around $75,000 if it was in good shape with new'ish avionics and reasonable hours.

I'd read in an article that it was a stolen plane...

Pretty sure I saw the same thing somewhere...
But don't quote me on it. Because it was early on right after the coverage started, and I haven't seen it anywhere else. What is strange, is all the local news here just said building, no one said I.R.S. building...

Same thing here... I saw that it was stolen in the first article I read about the crash and havent seen that mentioned since then.
IRS doesnt generally publicize their buildings too much. There are 2 IRS buildings near my office that have no signs or markings indicating that they are IRS. Guess they dont want to take any undue chances with irate taxpayers...

Reef you know I am a NPR and OPB kind of person. You should give it a try, they don't usually have network talking heads on any of their programing and it is kind of nice. Heck, a lot of the time they don't even talk about politics.
