Just wanted to thank all involved. Question to those who mentioned AB bulbs... I'm not familiar with those. Could some one clue me in. I currently have ushio's on the 70, and like them a lot, but would like to know all my options. MarVida, your guide is excellent! If anyone is at all interested, you should speak up. I can hardly believe you 'threw it together' . It's great. Thanks all, SWF.com members did it again! What would I do without ya!?

I love learning new stuff.
I was planning on doing a 10 gal nano with a LOA 65W - maybe a 70W 20k MH would be a better choice.... And for about $100 - that's not bad!

I have the 70w AB 20k. Supposedly it has a lower PAR rating then the 10k's but it does look good. I prefer it to the 10k Ushio.

What's the coverage area of this 70w setup?

It works well over a standard 10 gallon. I don't know how it would be over anything larger.

I think that 10g (or similar size) would be max for a 70w.

I think as long as ventilation/heat/evaporation issues were met it would be fine.
