Snails ate the clam!!!!

so this morning I saw my clam opened up totally and my NASS SNAILS eating him..
the clam was fine last night b4 the lights went off. This was a smaller clam so probably could not handle the nasses.. my other clam is bigger, and some of you may remember it attacked my blue hippo, well thats fine-- so far.
I cant believe these NASS snails dug into it!!!!

i think the clam probably died, then the snail just cleaned up what was left.

yup. the clam would have closed up if it was alive enough.

I agree, there is no way the snail could have pried the clam open

I also agree. They are more of scavengers and eat dead and decaying matter.

Nassarius sp. are not able to eat live flesh. The Clam had to be dead before the Snails could eat it.
