...it's all fun and games till a snail looses an eye. Not that it is an impossibility that you might get a couple of snails and hermits to co-exist, but in my years of this hobby...I generally get a crazed hermit or two in a bunch that snack on my snails at any given opportunity. I have lost urchins to my strawberry hermit as well. He has eaten two of them...the second one he killed...I took the urchin away from him and then he got one of my bumble bee snails

have to agree with meowzer here..Hermits r snail eaters and if not supplied with a variety of empty shells will take the snails shell and consume the host snail.
