This was originally supposed to be my first sized sw tank, but I went bigger almost immediately. In any case I've finally got my little one all set up. It's a 12g nano cube, been cycling for a few weeks using some donations from my established tank. Only inhabitants right now are assorted snails.
Now, one of my first questions before I go any further is that the filtration provided with this particular tank includes:
First compartment - sponges
Second compartment - carbon, ceramic rings and bioballs
Third compartment - return pump (and my heater)
I'm thinking that there has to be a better option?? I've seen some really unique setups using other similar tanks (ie bio cube) but the back and compartments on this are not quite the same. Additionally, I'd kind of like to keep the lid on this tank - it sits on my nightstand and the cat is already quite thrilled he can actually reach this tank. There's no room for a fuge either below or beside this tank, and a hang on really doesn't seem fusible because the tank itself is so small I don't see how one would "fit"? So do I have any other options? If anyone else has this particular tank, I'd love to see what you are using.
