So the lights have been out on my tank for a while and I just put the red light in there and in the fron right corner there was a whole swarm of little things that looked like tadpoles only really really small. thier tails didnt seem to sway at all just stayed straight out. they swarmed around in a group everywhere they went. probably between 50 and 200. hard to say.
When I put the light on them the cleaner shrimp came over real fast and I think was feasting on them.
I don't have any pairs of fish and I only have 1 each of shrimp. I don't know what to even guess they might be.
very very small the body part seemed to be whitish clear and the tail was more clearish.

I don't suppose they have any chance of survival if that's what they are?

doubt it. Although, a few weeks ago i had 4 hermit crabs and i found a small dead one missing it shell, i took it out and counted the ones left and i still had 4. So some how another got in there and im guessing it was born in there because of its smaller size.
I know you can siphon them out and raise them if you want, but i dont know much about that

hmm, hard to tell, but I;d say no, thier heads were almost perfectly round and then tapered back into a sinle long tail like a tadpole.
I don't see any in the tank now. I don't know if they swap to a part of the tank I can't see or are resting on the sand/rock or the shrimp ate them. I don't think the shrimp could have gotten tham all by now. And I'm only assuming he was eating them, looked like thats what he was doing.

The link I posted says that those things (which may be what I have) are tunicates, what the heck is a tunicate?
