Something other than anemone

Tell me what things your clowns have hosted in please?
I dont want to get an anenome, and I like to watch the hosting activity!
Any ideas?
Thanks in advance

Of these I wouldn't recommend, frogspawn (unless you have a HUGE one) and an long tentacle plate coral. I managed to save the frogspawn but they killed the LT plate.
Two that I would recommend are a larger toadstool and xenia. Both are hardy enough for hosting duty.

One of my clowns loves his mushrooms. I have green hairy ones and some regular ones that are quite big. At night he is right in the middle of the big ones and sleeps there. He also loves the toadstool too.
So you could not go wrong with mushrooms and toadstools....

Maximus has hosted frogspawn (although he swam below it rather than through it so I suppose that is why the frogspawn was not "harmed" by his hosting), hairy mushrooms, and xenia...Actually, he would just sleep in the xenia at night. It was pretty cute...the xenia would ball up once the lights would turn off and he would wedge himself in the branches and sleep there!

I bought a frogspawn about a year ago in hopes my clowns would host it. They haven't touched it once. Instead they've hosted mushrooms, and lately have taken to a rather large monti-cap.

Mine hosted a purple gonipora once. Well the gonipora went back into its skelton and never came back out because the clown wouldn't stop hosting it. 3 anenomes in the tank and it had to destroy my favorite piece

My clown has hosted in a spaghetti leather (or finger leather...there's so many names!) and he likes my long tentacle plate too, but not so much as the finger.

My clowns host a mag-float. They have lots of options. Very large frogspawn, shrooms, zoos, toadstool and an anemone but they choosethe mag-float.

My Clarkii hosts Xenia. He spends most of his time in the middle of half a dozen stalks of it.

Clowns hosting anything other then an anemone will eventually kill its host, Corals are not meant for hosting, Frogspawn, torches, hammers, LT plates are not hosts...PERIOD. Some other corals can tollerate it better then others such as zoos, leathers, but still are not suitable hosts.

wow! thanks for all the input.
I think mine are hosting the magfloat. When I move it the gal chases it down til it comes back to it's normal spot. so I was just wondering.

Do you want or have corals?
There are also a lot of artificial anemones that are relatively realistic looking. I think they might work as well.
