Salt Water Paradise is great, The Fish Place is just north of there.
In Rochester the best is The Reef Shoppe but Carribean Forest and Marine Oasis are both good too.
In Batavia Kenny's Pet Mart is becomming a really great store.

hey i just looked at the lighting you said he has.. when i finish my lighting upgrade I will have 2 175 watt metal halides and 4 65 watt power compacts.. for 610 watts total over my 55... saying that he has 570 watts over the 120.. i should be able to keep alot of those same corals when i finish my lights.. or should i say at least meet thier lighting requirements?

Very sweet looking system....I believe a display such as that is the goal of most conscientious hobbyists...I know I'd be pleased if I had that to look at every day!
Truth is there are numerous displays just as nice or even better that survive long term with a basic filtration of LR/LS/skimmer/refugium...combined with a quality water source ... adaquate lighting...stable water chemistry...and moderate to high circulation. Years of trial and error and combined experience have made the success of such systems reachable even for rookies like me.
...and who is it that has been heard to say that without plant life systems are problem prone and doomed to fail!!!!I'll accept a failure such as your friends any day over a display consumed by algaes and full of toxins that can not accurately be measured much less controlled.
Put up or shut up...:)
