Hi all. A few weeks ago I had a post about something being wrong w/ my bubble coral. the next day he was fine. Was told unless he acts weird for 24 hours don't worry about it.
Well he has looked like this for 2 days now. Anyone have any ideas? He looks like part of him broke off

It looks like it's dying. Did it get injured? What have you been feeding it? How's the typical stuff like water parameters, waterflow & lighting?

I will have to do a test. I didn't do one today. I did do a water change and I checked the ammonia earlier and it was 0
Yesterday my water tested at:
ammonia 0
trite 0
trates 10-20
ph 8.0
phosphates 0.03
calcium 600
dKH 9.6 or 3.43 meq/L
I have a 29 gallon with 130watts of PC
I took this picture of my BTA earlier (bottom picture) and I just got home and my BTA is shrivelled up. What gives? I have only had him 3 weeks tomorrow. My xenia is even closed up. Everything was looking good earlier.

I will take another water test in a few and most the results.

ok just did another test.
ammonia 0
trite 0
trate 20 - Ouch!
PH 8.2
alk 300 - this is with a dip stick as I can't find the little dropper piece that goes on my salifert syringe.
My anemone may be pooping - as I haven't seen him do this yet and some old food looks like came out and the cleaner shrimp were on him. I don't know.
As far as my bubble coral goes yes I dropped a rock on him a week or 2 ago and everyone said it would be ok. I feed him Krill and also squirt him my homemade mixture and zooplankton from time to time. My mushrooms look ok and my zoos look ok. Any ideas??
Also I am running carbon and RENEW and PhosX

does the good half take food? i have a green bubble that looks like that once in awhile but doesn't last to long. when it does i see it poop later and within an hour it bounces back. all i could say is try to keep feeding it,it will helpin the healing process to keep it strong.

i've also seen these these chicken leg looking things coming out of bubble corals before to, they went away on the ones i've seen. these corals are pretty hardy IMO. good luck!

20ppm nitrates isn't going to cause anything this drastic.
Is your temperature steady now that you have a new heater? How much temp swing do you have, more than 2 or 3 degrees?
The bubble looks like it is dying and maybe the chemicals released by it are stressing your other corals/anemones.

Well it is taking food. What can I do to help it? My tank is pretty steady as far as temp goes no more than 2 or 3 degree swing. The 2-3 degree was only today as it was warmer outside so I had to adjust the heater w/ the lights, but it wasn't bad.
This morning the anemone looks better, so maybe it was just doing its business.
How can I help the bubble? Any suggestions? I have a QT - but I am treating a firefish with meds in it right now and I don't have light on that tank.
- EDITED- Here is a picture of the bubble this morning before the lights are on.

it may need better lighting.what kind do you have? i rescued mine from a lfs. they said a guy returned it cause it wouldn't open and thaught something was wrong with. they had it under some pc lighting. when i placed it in my tank i put it on the sand bed under my pcs and 175 mh. the next morning it was half way full,so i placed it higher in the water until it fully opened. it took three placements to find what itreally liked.

I don't think light has anything to do with it. I have 130watts of PC lighting in a 29 gallon tank. It was fine until I dropped a rock on it. Now it is slowly going down hill.
Here is what it looked like before I dropped the rock on it.
