Ok that makes more sense, The reason why I am asking is cause my salt continues to solidify which sucks trying to chisel out
so I think I am just going to switch over to buying premaid saltwater which is better anyways cause its RO/DI unlike my tap water. One day I will get a sytem but I don't think its necciessary right now.
So I will be getting a card which is worth 120 gallons worth of water for 95 cents a gallon as apposed to 1.25 a gallon. So I'm happy bout that.

Does your salt get hard because its exposed to moisture? My salt comes in a plastic bag inside the salt bucket. The plastic bag also has one of those zip tie like things to seal it off tightly. That way the salt isnt exposed to moisture. When I move back to San Diego (which is gonna be a pain to haul my tank) the saltwater is gonna be free. My alma matter is right by the ocean and provides filtered ocean water for free. They just have a pump/nozzle you drive up to and fill up your bottles.

I get lake water for free
I wish I could get ocean water for free but it runs about 8 dollars for 2.2 gallons here in Michigan. As for my salt it came in a NON-resealable but I keep it in a painters bucket thing with a lid and I'm going to guess that yes moisture has gotten into some how or another which is why I'm switching. To me its a lot more easy, and I'm supporting a local business that's trying to get up and running.

I'd be in the poorhouse
I know right? But thats for bottled ocean water. RO/DI Saltwater is cheaper cause you can make it in your laundry room or kitchen.
Plus I have a 24g

Instant ocean, and I would go sailing in the lake water

Thats me and my buddy Mike in 1805 gunning for the winward mark. We finished 5th for that race but got 4th overall in a fleet of 40 at a GPYC regatta.

Dude that looks so gangster. I would love to sail. Unfortunately I live in California where a majority of my paycheck goes to cost of living and my fish tank.
