I have an auto top off. Apparently doing the drip acclimation my SG has dropped from 1.024 to 1.022. What is the easiest and safest way to bring it back up?

hmmm...topping off shouldn't drop you sg...but when you do your next w/c make it a tiny bit higher

Pulling out two gallons of salt water and replacing it with two gallons of R/O water droped my SG. It will take a lot of water changes to bring it back up. Next time I will turn off my top off and refill with salt water.

why will it take alot of W/C to get it back up? if you make your own water, like meowzer said, make it at 1.023 and that should bring it up from .022

why did you do that??
What drip acclimation did you do?? I'm confused.
during a water change, you take out saltwater from the tank, and replace it with an equal amount of new saltwater.
Everyday some freshwater evaporates, and the salt remains in the tank. Then you top off w/ fresh water.
Idk if I misunderstood, but why would you take out 2 gallons of tank water and replace it w/ fresh?
and what did you drip acclimate??

OH, I think i know what you did.
You drip acclimated a new specimen, and the drip acclimation used up 2 gallons of tank water and the auto topoff compensated for the loss of water by adding fresh water.
Right?
In that case, do what meozerr said, just make the water slightly saltier than you usually would next few times you do a water change.
It'll porbably take like 2-3 WC's.

I don't think it really matters much. You can do 1 every day or two.
1.022 isn't that low, LFS's keep them at like 1.019 I think.

Hi there,
the easiet way to do it is by turning off your top-off and top-off with 1.024 salin water. I would suggest that you measure your salinity before top-off. This way you will know how high it goes up after evaporation. That way you don't over do it.
