Hi. I was recommened to you by someone. I have posted this earlier in another place but I made some changes. I have a 112 gallon tank. If I COULD HAVE A MOMENT OF YOUR TIME.
THANK YOU.
THIS IS MY TANK HALFWAY FULL.

THESE ARE THE FOUR 1IN HOLES WHERE THE WATER OVERFLOWS FROM. AND AT THE RIGHT ARE TWO OTHER HOLES WHERE I'LL CONNECT MY MAGNUM 350.

A CLOSER LOOK AT THE HOLES AND THE BOX. ORIGINALLY THE PREVIOUS OWNERS HAD A SPONGE IN THERE. THE 4 HOLES ARE 1 INCH AND THE DRAIN HOLE IS 1.5 INCHES.

A PIC OF MY WET DRY WITHOUT THE TRAYS.

TOP VIEW OF THE OVERFLOW BOX.

BACK SIDE OF THE BOX

THIS IS A IS A PAINT THING I MADE RIGHT NOW AND I THINK THAT THAT IS HOW MY PLUMBING SHOULD GO.

PINK: ANY HOLES
YELLOW: MAGNUM 350
BROWN: FILTER MEDIA
RED: PUMP. quiet one 4000 rated at 1017gph.
BLUE: WATER GOING OUT OF TANK
GREEN: WATER GOING BACK IN TANK.
ARROWS POINTING IN DIRECTION OF WATER.
I WAS TOLD THAT I WILL NEED A BIGGER BOX FOR THE HOLES. WHICH IS A SIMPLE PROCESS. BUT STILL ANY SUGGESTIONS BECAUSE I HAVE MY FISHES AND LR IN A 22G CONTAINER.
THANKS
I WILL GET MY PROTEIN SKIMMER IN ABOUT 3 WEEKS. I HAVEN'T REALLY THOUGHT ABOUT IT'S PLACEMENT OR WHAT TYPE OF SKIMMER TO GET BECAUSE I WANTED TO GET A SUPER SKIMMER BY CORALIFE BUT IT'S HEIGHT IS JUST TO MUCH FOR MY STAND SO I'LL HAVE TO THINK ABOUT ANOTHER ONE. I'M SORT OF IN THE PROCESS OF ADDING THE WATER INTO MY TANK.

If your going to use a W/D you could skip the Magnum filter..redundant...
Use those holes for a closed loop and additional circulation...they would cause you drain down issues if used as sump return...
Those 4 holes and "outside" box are fine....although it will be a noisy setup, unless you can fit a Stockman or Durso style stand pipe in there (most likely why the last owner had a sponge in there)
Still need to figure a Skimmer into the equation...

Quiet one 4000 is "OK" for the return, but I would suggest a nice "external" for that application and for the closed lop...

I just came back from getting my bulkhead and it ended up not fitting. What I sort of meant is that the diameter of the hole in the box is 1.5inches without a bulkhead. and i had to get a bulkhead with an with the inside hole with a diameter of 3/4. but since it didn't fit i'd think that i'd might as well make the box a little bigger. the box is siliconed on to there and i could easily take it off. do you have any ideas with what i could make the new box of and what i should make the whole size without a bulkhead. the pipe on the wet/dry has a diameter of 1.5 inches. would that effect it in any way.
by the way i really appreciate it.

If you run with the QO 4000 pump a 1" bulkhead will suffice (1 3/4" hole) and a 1 1/2" bulkhead needs a 2 3/8" hole...then you need an additional 3/4" for the bulkhead flange...so you would need to size the box to fit...

i know that i'm going to have to replace my box for a bigger one.
these are the measurements that are right now.

this is what i'm planning on doing

will that work or should i make it bigger. but the problem is since i have almost all the water in my tank there is a 4.5 inch clearance from the tank to the wall.

thanks but I have just one more question. if the pvc pipe from my w/d is 1.5 how would I connect a hose thats 1.5 inches on onside and on the other side (connected to the bulkhead) a bit bigger.
SHOULD THE DIAMETER OF THE HOLE BE AS BIG AS POSSIBLE.

so i made the box from an actual box. i'm going to go to the lfs and get the bulkhead. but do i have to remove the existing box or should i remove it.

i'm thinking on leaving it on to reduce the noise of the water thats flowing. the box i'm making it out of is like about 2 mm thick would that work.
