in my opinion which ain't worth a lot once all the junk mail turns into spam and we all get enough of that now, with the post office service record(and i am trying not to offend anyone here) companies are going to try spamming everyone just because it is a lot cheaper than paying postage as for the service remark the pony express ran 2200 miles in 10 days, i ordered an album off of the big auction site and it took 16 days to get here, fed ex and ups are the overnight carriers of choice for 1, 2, or 3 day shipping, and i just think the only thing floating the usps is the government jmo...tobin

Ok, news flash, we're a self supporting company, haven't been federally funded since 1982 or something. Really though I can't understand why everyone cares so much when gas rises 10 cents a week. Think about how many trucks usps drives around. Everyone is raising prices on everything, I order stuff online constantly and pay a buck or two more than I did two years ago but seeing as I can't go out and get it locally I pay it.

Bottom line is no matter how much stamps go up there is always going to be a demand for it. Same for gas prices. No matter what people are going to need gas. If gas prices go to $5 a gallon people will still pay. If stamps went to $1 people will still pay. There really isnt much anyone can do. Yes the post office makes billions a year. But if you really think about it, how much are they losing annually? With gas prices being high and everyone using email. They really don't have much of a choice.

i just think with more and more people using the internet the post office is doomed just a matter of time e-mail cost pennies to reach millions, and inflation, price hikes whatever you want to call it we can't do anything about it, like stated in the post before this if gas hits 5.00 a gal we will have to pay it, but with that forever stamp that puts a cap on it so that is what will bring the usps to it's knees...tobin
