Star fish problems

They are getting white chunks out of them and desinergrating. ANy one know what to do ?

Will this effect the fish in the tank should I remove them?

They are dying. Did the salinity of the water they were in change rapidly?

Thanks Bang no the tank is as steady as can be no perameter changes its a 150 gal tank and I never seem to have sudden changes.I have 2 star fish they are both looking the same should I remove them so they dont do anything to the water?

They still have a chance for survival. It sure reads like osmotic shock though I suppose it could be starvation. What species of sea star are they?

Well they were to far gone when I got hoe yesterday they were knobby stars they been great for the whole 6 month or so I had them then all the sudden this oh well thats part of the hobby

Know this thread is a bit old but....is it this knobby star you had? If so, how much LR do you have?
