I just read this thread, start to finish and I just want to say thank you for sharing this trip :) Sorry to see it leaving your house, but it's going to be seen and enjoyed by loads of people in person. Great job.
Thank you! I hate to see them go, but am excited to see them in their new home at the same time. I got an email from the Director yesterday commenting on how many people were looking at the tank we set up Monday, even though the water is still a little cloudy.

Construction of the new exhibit space began Monday. Hope to be able to get photos of the remodel as work progresses.

Construction has started in the new exhibit area. Here are a couple of photos taken of the aquarium back room area. The floor needs to be sand blasted before they can put the epoxy floor sealer down and the ceiling grid still needs to be taken down.

YearOfTheNick,
Chuck (Goodwin) passed away a few months back.
He donated all of his aquariums, equipment, fish and livestock to a beautiful butterfly garden and aquarium exhibit in at the Sertoma Butterfly House, South Dakota.
RIP, Chuck.

I never heard of him so I googled the name...I came up with chuck Goodwin's that did all kinds of things. So who was this guy?

I had followed Chuck on RC and a couple other forums for years. His tanks were absolutely amazing, and he was an awesome guy. I miss reading about his new additions. I know very little of his personal life, so I'm not the best one to answer that.

His name was Chuck Purdy, here is a link to his Obituary:

I did a little digging and found that he owned a sporting goods store, The Athletes Foot, at one time.
Here's something about the Sertoma Butterfly house, and a few kind words:
