So, for starters, the thing I need help on the most is finding a filter. what kind would I use. also, what is the link to the ADA tanks again?
adana-usa.com for the tanks...
I don't know if I can post links to other vendors regarding lighting, but it doesn't appear this site sells T5HO lights or accessories.
a 24inch Current USA sundial T5HO 4x24w has LED moonlights, 4 bulbs (2x10,000k, 2xactinic) fans, individual reflectors. not a bad fixture for I think they run like $190 brand new with bulbs if you look hard enough. That'd be a great fixture for a 24inch ADA tank. Should come with legs too...
I dunno how complicated you wanna make this, I'd personally drill it and hide equipment or do that false wall for simplicity.

Does anyone know roughly how much it costs to run a 150w metal halide per month?
get the T5s because with the MH you might need a chiller and when a chiller clicks on, thats what really hits your electric bill... T5 bulbs last way longer too. The only thing you lose with the T5s is the shimmering/shadow effect of a MH.

I'm sure it'd be like $10 a month or less. the T5ho is cheaper in regards to bulbs, longevity, the fixture itself (new), electricity, and typically no need for a chiller. you can hang a T5ho fixture to keep it off the rim of the glass.

But Mh's are most like the sun and are best for clams and sps. I dont know, I am thinking of getting just a nanocube my first time around, just to get the feel for the nano hobby. You know, just like a plug n' play system. My second system would most likely be an ADA though.

I was just on ADA's site, I don't see how you could build a system for $300. Maybe the 7 gallon but that is tiny.

Check out some of the diary threads on here, the "cheapocubes" look pretty good to me

Sure it would be nice to have an ADA tank, but c'mon for a lot less money you can still have a nice setup. Good luck and be sure to start a diary thread once you choose your tank

I did the price list break down, how much more simple does it need to get? AND MY LIST INCLUDED LIVEROCK AND SAND!!!!!
Do you I need to waste money just to prove a point that I can build a cheap, BADASS ADA tank?
