so i added a yasha goby pair with a pistol shrimp (white with the red stripes). i couldnt get a picture of the pistol shrimp but here are the gobys. one of them went right into a hole with the shrimp and the other one is on the opposite side of the tank in hole by himself :( hopefully he will find the other two. they were already paired.

Nice! I love mine. You're lucky that you got a pair of Yasha's, that's hard to find. They may still reject each other now that they're in a new environment, but usually once it hears the pistol snapping it will find him. Every now and then my pistol would desert my goby and after a few days of snapping, she'd find him again.

when i saw that it was a pair of yashas i jumped on it. i hope they all go back together. they are eating good but they hardly come out. they are really shy right now. they are so tiny and cute! the gobys are like 1 1/2 inches and the pistol is 3/4 inch.

ok so tonight the pistol finally came out and i was able to snap a few pictures of him. the yashas are still on opposite side but are both coming out and eating well.

omg so this morning i check my tank and there is a bunch of copepods all over the glass!
i didnt know i would have that many so fast. i guess its because i used my rock and sand from my established tank?
also i have a new addition to my tank and i added about 10 different kinds of snails. everything is going really good so far.

start pulling the algae out you can get too.. and cut back on your feedings and light... are you running any Phosban? that could help starve it out too..

Oh boy...First have a good cry, that's what I would do. Next...get a critter that eats HA and on the day before it is to arrive, remove the rock and scrub it under saltwater and then rinse it in another saltwater bucket to be rid of spores as best you can. This should give your eater a head start. Don't run your lights too long, and if the bulbs are old replace them. Don't overfeed corals or fish.
Macroalgae can be very decorative, and feed on the extra phosphates and nitrates that are feeding the HA. Don't bother to test PO4 (Phosphates) you will get a false negative. You have phosphates.
If you feed frozen foods...rinse it before you feed the fish. Use a fish net, put your frozen food in it then run water over it from the tap to thaw it, then last rinse use RO water...invert the net in the fish tank.
If you feed your fish pellets or flake STOP using it, it pollutes the tank.
Hope this helps.

i do not have a sump on this set up...its an all in one cube. btw the red macro you sent me didnt make it

Maybe you don't have phosphates or the red would have made it.
Is there any natural sunlight hitting the tank?...HA loves the the sunlight. I cover my sides with colored poster paper to block out the sun in my bedroom where the 56g tank is. Even if the room is just sunny.

Once a day is not overfeeding. Unless you don't run a skimmer...and feed the corals. Coral food also feeds algae. Fish won't die if they eat everyother day...but it will stunt their growth.

i do run a skimmer and feed the corals. i dont want to stunt my fishes growth either so im not going to stop feeding them. what i meant by overfeeding is that i feed them too much food once a day. maybe i should cut back on the amount of food but still feed once a day.

That's better. How much, how often and what are you feeding the coral?
