Alright I definitely wont pull the anemone off the rock, hopefully hell get off with the powerhead method. This usually works, worst case, you'll have to give it up with the rock.

I was looking to spend a little less on the light (im a college student, so im kind of on a budget) anyone know of a cheaper light that will work fine with anemones/corals? Which is why I suggest looking for a local reef club in your area. T5's are going to cost you more for the amount of output that you're going to need. The other option is a DIY T5 fixture, but in the long run, it won't save you much money.

Im turning my 10 gallon into a QT and im giving the 20 gallon to a buddy of mine. I dont really have that much room for a sump, so as of right now i wont be doing that. Sounds good.

As for the LR and sand, so if I just put it directly from my 20 gallon to my 29 gallon and begin the cycle, it will kill the parasites? yes, as long as you follow how I listed. This should give it enough time to cycle, and enough time without fish that the parasite dies. If the parasite is in a fishless tank for 6+ weeks, the parasite will starve and die.

Thank you all for the help.

IMO you can get a good T5HO set for your 29G...I have a sundial T5HO, and I keep sps, lps, a clam, and 2 mini anemones

ALSO IMO...you will not find a new one for $100 :( Best thing to do is as Flower said....look on Craigs List, e Bay.....local reef clubs (if you have any)

Even check out other fish forums...some have trading and classified sections

Wow, thank you for the quick responses! So i wasnt planning on putting the condy in the new tank (since it wont be cycled), so im thinking im just going to return the condy/cleaner shrimp and use the money towards a new light. Ill be going to the LFS sometime soon to start scouting for this new light. Probably gonna spend around $150 or so, so hopefully i can pick up a decent MH or T5HO.

Ill be using a 10 gallon tank that i have as a QT tank, so i dont run into any more problems with parasites (hopefully).

As for my sand and live rock, I think im going to leave it out in the sun for about a day or two to let the parasites die. I dont want to take any chances with the new tank, especially since i messed this one up.

There is no need to kill off the live rock, they can't get ich. If you leave your tank..Any tank with no fish for 6 to 8 weeks the parasite will be totally gone, the shrimp does not have to go..Only the condy because of lighting and any fish..

You didn't mess anything up, ich is a common parasite in FISH. So if you use a quarantine tank for future fish you should have no problems.
Unless you buy used lights, and I doubt you will find any MH or T5s for $150.00 even on CL, you will be spending allot more on lights. If you want corals, why not take a little time and look into what it will take to care for non-photosynthetic corals. The lights you already have are fine for those, and they are very, very bright colored and pretty. They do take allot of water current and lots of water changes..but they are beautiful. They love dirty imperfect water with lots of nutrients, kind of the opposite we do for the other corals.

However study up to make sure you know what you’re getting into, this is true of any coral. Also tube anemones like the low lights, so even an anemone is not out of reach.

This is a non-photosynthetic coral reef tank

Pink tube anemone..(they do eat/sting fish if they swim into them)

Fluorescent is not much better than regular fish lights. We are not allowed to post other sites so PM me and I will tell you my personal e-mail and direct you from there if you like, be prepared to spend at least $400.00 to $600.00 on NEW MH or T5 lights.

Stupid me, I'm sorry..I compare everyones tank to mine..My tank is 90g and 48"

So you are correct, it won't cost that much. However T5s are not PCs.

I paid 425 shipped to AK for a Nova extreme pro 48" brand new. Good bang for your buck T-5 light
has individual reflectors and mine has 6 lights, 3 actinic and 3 daylight bulbs.
If you get the nova and you want to keep a good range of coral make sure and spend the extra money and get the pro, not just eh regualr nova extreme.
The pro has a contoured reflector that replicates individual reflectors for more PAR.
the regular one just has a flat reflector behind all lights.
Suposedly 30% more light to the tank with the pro.
