Stingray compatability?

Why is it that newbs are constantly trying to keep rays with angels, triggers, puffers, etc??? It is frustrating to continue to read. Hey Tbonesteak, would you like to know how this is going to end? Mix in a book or some research now and again.

he is sayin yes return the ray immediatly. It is best you reasearch before buying things, it is commonly know that any aggresive fish should be kept away from a ray and they should really be in species only tanks. this can be found out by doing a minimal amount of research and will save you money, time, effort and not to mention the fishes lives in the future.

I took a look at your profile just because I thought you were new to the hobby and you should really not keep a tomini in a 155 gallon tank. IMO they belong in at least a 300. Again you might already know this but giving you a heads up

I got a very small cortez stingray and my very large Korean Angel just circles him? could this be a problem?
HMMM....I have a Cortez Ray in my 225G. It was also small when I got her. She is now over 9" in diameter. I am getting worried if she grows any more, that she will be too large for my 225G.....
They grow quick, and IMO will outgrow the 155 in 6 months....about the angel...I have 2 dwarfs..lol...not the same I guess as what you have.

actually many people keep Rays and Angels together but absolutly no puffers or triggers, but you never know untill you try. The Angel might jusy be checking out the new tank mate and does'nt know what to think so definantly keep a eye on thing cause it could change fast. i know of a person that keeps 2 Cal. Rd. rays with a few Angels, Tangs, Wrasses and they do fine together so who knows untill you try. Good fortune with it.

How big was your Ray when you got it? Its kind of funny that all the information places on the web like fishbase and others say these rays grow about 1" a year. My pups have grown around 1/4" in 6 weeks so that would be 1/2" in 12 weeks or 3 months and 1" in 6 mths and 2" in a year so I'm wondering were these people get there info, buy studying 1 Ray?

That sounds more like the reason just checking out the new kid, I was just kinda worried it would be hard to part with the angel i have had him for about 3 years and is the only surving fish of a flat worm exit chaos, but really would like to keep the ray. The tomini is still very very small when the time comes ill give him up.

It was about 3" sooo cute and tiny..lol....I really hope it doesn't grow much more, although I have read they can....if she does, I really have no where around here to try to find her a home....I am hoping this does not become an issue
Maybe I'll call the Tulsa aquarium
...maybe
T-bone...do you have a lot of open beach areas????

Ray pond is very simple and would work great Cat Lady. I exited my idea of a lagoon with windows for right now. But a plastic kiddie pool would be cheap and easy.
